Journal Entry 4

Date: 17.05.2023

Activity:
- Writing script to direct the whole game
- Creating more UI
- Bugfixing
- Creating hazards
- Making sprites
- Putting the whole game together

Notes:
It turned out I was vastly underestimating work needed to be done and it required an all-nighter leading into some not-so pretty code. Sounds and music have been completely skipped this time and put off for the round of polishing. Not enough playtesting on our end had been done either, but it should be fine without crashing or any errors. Another problem that popped up was that building the game removed grass from generated terrains. In the rush we also had to switch around and not stick to our roles so we ended up editing parts that the other was working. We didn't cause any problems with it, but it was tougher to keep track of who worked on what, especially as time went on and tiredness only became more prominent. We will provide a better breakdown of the division of labour.

Invested hours:
Since we were jumping from one thing to another it's not very possible to give a good estimate of each particular activity's time toll, so I'll just list it as one whole thing.
Finishing alpha version of the game - 30 hours

Outcome:
Updated git repository and build uploaded to itch.io page (onispellthief-alpha.zip).
